Wedding Cakes & Celebration Cakes

Cake orders are accepted on the basis that the Terms & Conditions and the Data Protection (privacy policy) have been read, understood and agreed and that all parties concerned are in agreement with them.
PLEASE NOTE:~ No correspondence will be entered into with any third party person.

1. The Contract ... (Cake Details/Order Form)

The contract shall be between the person requesting/ordering the cake (the client) and Dream Cake Designs by Dianne, and remains so regardless of who is making the payment/purchasing the cake/collecting the cake.

Once the deposit has been received and the order confirmed a CAKE DETAILS/ORDER FORM (email) will be sent out (weekends and bank holidays not included).

Should the CAKE DETAILS/ORDER FORM not match the client request, the client must inform Dream Cake Designs by Dianne otherwise it will be assumed that the order details have been accepted and approved and the order will be carried out as specified on the CAKE DETAILS/ORDER FORM .

PLEASE NOTE:

Any changes made by you (the client) to the order/design once it has been agreed will need to be confirmed in writing (email is fine). to Dream Cake Designs no later than (14) days prior to the event date.

Any changes made less than (14) days prior to the event date cannot be guaranteed and may incur an additional cost.

Any work already carried out which as a result of any changes to design is no longer required, will be chargeable.

2. Deposit & Payment Policy

The following payment schedule is in place as of April 30th 2019: and is subject to change without notice.

Celebration Cakes ...

DATE RESERVATION FEE ~ (non refundable) secures your cake into the diary ~ until the fee has been received the date will remain open to other enquiries. Bookings are taken on a first come first served basis.

A £25 date reservation fee is required for all celebration cakes up to the value of £150.
A £50 date reservation fee required for all cakes over £150.
Cakes ordered within 2 weeks of the event date will require a payment of 50% of the total cost of the cake at the time of booking.
The balance can be paid via BACS, or cash.
Full payment is required before a cake will be released.

A £50 Save the Date Payment is required for ALL WEDDING CAKES.
Balance Payment – is due no later than ONE MONTH before the wedding date. A reminder may be sent if the final payment is not received by the agreed date.

DCD reserves the right to postpone or delay work on the cake until payment is received or may cancel the order and retain any monies already paid to cover cost of materials purchased and any work already carried out.

No cake will be released until payment has been made in full.

3. Cancellation or Postponement ... (refund policy)

By you the client

We understand that sometimes situations arise which are beyond your control. If you need to postpone or change your event date, please contact DCD immediately so that we can check availability for your new date.

If you need to cancel your order entirely any refunds (EXCLUDING DATE RESERVATION PAYMENTS) are made at the discretion of DCD.

By Us (DCD)

We reserve the right to cancel the order at any time due to personal injury, emergency and other circumstances which are beyond our control. We will however, do our utmost to secure another suitably skilled cake decorator and with your consent will release all monies and designs to said cake decorator, or refund in full any monies already paid.

In the unlikely event that Dream Cake Designs is unable to supply you with your cake a full refund will be given but no further compensation will be available.

4. Delivery & Set Up ... (Wedding Cakes only)

Please advise at the time of booking if you require this additional service.

Delivery and set up to venues within a 10 mile radius of wf94tf ~ £25

Delivery and set up to venues further then 10 miles is £25 plus additional mileage costs charged at £1.50 per mile one way. The delivery cost will be added to the final balance.

5. General Provisions ...

a. All work shall be completed in a professional manner, and to the high standard set and maintained by DCD.

b. In the event that the Client shall fail to pay any instalment payment due, DCD may cease work without breach, pending payment or resolution of dispute.

c. DCD will take photographs of its cakes and may order copies of pictures from your photographer.

We reserve the right to use any photographs for our own reference or for display and/or promotion without compensation to you.

6. Compliments & Complaints ...

Dream Cake Designs by Dianne is a home based registered and inspected professional cake making business with full public & product liability insurance and a 5 star hygiene rating. I work very hard to deliver full customer satisfaction and every care is taken to make sure that the cakes provided are of a high quality and decorated to a professional standard. I really do appreciate feedback as this is helpful to customers who may not already have ordered a celebration cake from Dream Cakes.

If you feel that you have reason to make a complaint may I respectfully request that I am contacted no later than 24 hours after delivery/collection so that I may assess the cause for complaint. If the complaint is relating to the quality or bake then you will need to return at least 2/3rds of the cake within 24 hours the cake in order for the complaint to be investigated.

To enjoy sponge cake at its best, it should ideally be consumed shortly after being cut to avoid it drying out ~ and in any case is generally best eaten within 48 hours of collection or delivery

Any formal complaint will need to be put in writing (email is fine) so that there can be no misunderstandings as to the nature of the complaint.
